AirPrint is an Apple technology that allows you to send documents to a printer without having to configure almost anything. That’s why a few days ago, I set to work to get a Wi-Fi printer that I have at home and use it to print invoices and documents from the iPhone or iPad. However, how can we add an ordinary printer to AirPrint? Follow these steps:
- We connect the printer by USB to a Mac.
- Open System Preferences.
- Access to Share.
- Select “Share printer” and choose from the list the printer that we want to use by AirPrint.
- In the Users menu, we select our user. It is important that you have the same Apple ID as the iPhone or iPad. Another option is to select “All” and anyone can use the printer with AirPrint.
Once you have done this, you will be able to print any document from your iPhone or iPad. The iOS operating system has everything planned to use AirPrint. From the contextual menus, we can access the Print menu and send documents of any format to the connected printer.
We recommend you to print Microsoft Office files from the Documents app or the official Word or Excel app, since they offer you a lot more options in terms of printing and compatibility so that the finish is perfect.
You can also print photos directly from the official application Apple Photos in the menu Share> Print.
