How To Use AirPrint On iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, And MacOS?

Apple iOS allows users to print files from the iPhone or MacBook without needing cables, install applications or perform complex configurations. The feature, known as AirPrint, can be useful for anyone who needs to print a document and does not have access to a computer.

In addition to the Apple smartphone, the function is also compatible with iPads and iPod touch, which also run iOS. If you are using an Apple device, then you can easily print pictures and/or documents using AirPrint. However, in order to make it work, you need to pay attention to a few things, which you will find in the next sections.

In order to see the “magic” to happen, the printer must be installed on the same Wi-Fi network where the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is connected and must be compatible with AirPrint. If you can ensure these things, then you will be able to print things using AirPrint. Apple has provided a great facility, but in order to use it, you must fulfill the requirements.

On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Step 1: Open the website, document or file you want to print and tap on the share button – usually a rectangle with an up arrow. Then, tap “Print”.

Step 2: The print settings screen opens. If you have more than one AirPrint-compatible printer on your network, tap on “Printer” to select which device you want to print on.

Step 3: Now set the number of copies followed by tapping “Options” if you want to change the range of pages to be printed or change the printout to black and white. After making the desired settings, tap “Print”. In case, you are unable to find these options, then you can take help of iPad Printer support providers.

Step 4: To manage print jobs, press the home button twice to open the iOS multitasking. Slide the screen to the left and open the “Print” application.

Step 5: To cancel an impression, simply tap it and swipe left and tap “Delete”. You can also tap on an item to see the details.

At macOS

Step 6: On the Mac, the procedure follows the pattern of computers. To print using a wireless or traditional printer, simply go to the “File” menu and click “Print”. You can also use the “Command + P” shortcut.

Step 7: The print settings will open. If you want to make advanced settings, click “Show Details” at the bottom of the window.

Step 8: Make the necessary adjustments and click “Print”.

Step 9: To manage your print jobs, simply click on the printer icon that will appear in the MacOS Dock. From there, you can pause an impression or click on the “X” to cancel it.
